UPS Buys Temperature-Controlled Logistics Company for $1.6 Billion

The deal should benefit the shipping giant's healthcare customers.

UPS is buying Andlauer Healthcare Group (AHG), a company that specializes in logistics and cold-chain transportation solutions for the healthcare sector.

The total purchase price is approximately CAD $2.2 billion ($1.6 billion). The company said the transaction will help UPS Healthcare customers, who increasingly need temperature-controlled shipping. UPS Healthcare will gain access to AHG’s temperature-controlled facilities and specialized cold-chain transportation capabilities.

UPS said that following the close of the transaction, Michael Andlauer will lead UPS Canada Healthcare and AHG.
